Intermittent faults in RP100s shipped before August 2026
Various users have reported that the RP100 did not produce the correct voltages and the output of one or both channels was intermittently freezing on start-up. The problem was erratic and hard to detect. We have found that a bug in an versions of the RP100 firmware in units shipped before August 2026. This bug was leaving the device susceptible to electronic noise interference from other instruments in the customer's lab, causing the output in the RP100 to not initialize correctly. As this EMI does not exist in our lab, the RP100s were testing correctly during quality assurance, but then a small number were having intermittent faults when they were being used for measurements. We are very sorry for this frustrating situation. Below is a firmware update that will solve this problem.
