Name | Description | Amount in pack | Pros | Cons |
---|---|---|---|---|
SP8: Standard sample plates | Standard CS sample plates | A pack of 8x sample plates + 10 spacers. One pack included with each device | +Versatile +Hold Sample from both top and bottom. | Difficult to align for very small samples. |
RSP: Raised sample plates | Thick sample plates that raise sample flush with top of device | Sold individually | Raises the sample up so that it can be accessed by SPM or low working-distance optics | High position of sample leads to more torque. Stiff samples will lead to error in position measured. |
FSP: Flexure sample plates | Two-in-one sample plate connected by flexures with a 200 um slot inbetween | Solid individually or in packs of 10. | Holds a 200 um slot, making smaller sample easier to mount. Compatible with straining 2D materials. | Lack of top sample plate and short length of sample means it is only suitable for low stiffness samples |
