A versatile strain platform for use with attoDRY magnet systems.
T = 1.8K – 320K, H= 9T, 12T, 5/2/2T & Vector
Full optical access enable scanning Raman, and other optical spectroscopy techniques.
Electrical connections allow electrical transport and AC susceptibility measurements.
Potential Applications
Phase transitions in 2D magnetic semiconductors e.g. from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic
Lifshitz transition of 2-dimensional Fermi surfaces caused by structural changes of the crystal lattice
Apply large anisotropic stresses to correlated electron materials
Any other experiment where the electronic or magnetic properties of a thin-film or bulk crystal can be tuned with uniaxial strain and probed electronically or optically
Fitted with a UC200 stress/strain cell
The attoDRY strain system is compatible with our most advanced stress/strain cell; the UC200. This allows the applied force and displacement (and consequently sample spring constant) to be measured.
Whatever your sample, you're covered
Bulk crystals can be held in by our sample plates so that controlled stress/strain can be applied while thin film and Van de Waal materials can be strained by laying them over a crack in a silicon wafer according to the technique developed at the University of Washington.
Optical & electrical probes supported
Razorbill Instruments in collaboration with attocube systems GmbH, provide the ultimate strain platform for cryogenic optical spectroscopy: an insert compatible with low vibration & high magnetic field attoDRY toploaders incl. cabling, XYZ sample motion, and a custom UC200 with SR200 sample carriers compatible with the unique LT-APO cryogenic objectives.
